Destination of the Month: Lake Maggiore & Lake Orta

Lake Maggiore – Italy’s second largest lake – forms the border between the regions Piedmont, on the lake’s famous western bank, and Lombardy. The lake extends for around 65 km between Locarno and Arona and is situated on the south side of the Alps. Along the waterside, there are numerous small towns, where you still find the typical Italian lifestyle. The most popular ones are e.g. Verbania, Stresa, Angera or Luino. It is especially the breathtaking scenery which Lake Maggiore is famous for: wonderful small islands, famous botanic gardens, typical Italian alleys and a fascinating landscape turn it into the ideal destination for incentive tours or events.

It is the smallest of the Northern Italian Lakes and is located to the west of Lake Maggiore in the Piedmont region. Also Lake Orta has a wonderful landscape, crystal-clear water and nice towns such as Sacro Monte d’Orta or Orta San Guilio.
